Web Marketing Excellence

We brought home some hardware!

At the Marketing Institute of Ireland's South East Marketing Awards, we were nominated, and won the category for Web Marketing Excellence for our work with the Theatre Royal Waterford. To fill in some background on the project:

In 2008/2009 Theatre Royal Waterford underwent a complete reconstruction, as part of this re-dedication, Emagine Media was commissioned to redevelop the new brand including marketing materials and online presence and digital marketing.

The brief was to tie in the long history of the Theatre in Waterford and a very old historic building with a new creative flair being introduced to the stage and new generation of audience while still retaining the attention of the original visitors.

Coinciding with the main launch of the Theatre in October 2009, the new brand and website, including new full online booking system, was unveiled. The simple ticketing system provides real-time allocation of places and integrates directly with our in-house POS of sale system. The bright new homepage gives website visitors an instant overview of upcoming shows and events while providing additional details in an easy to navigate, accessible manner.

Complementing redesigned website, we have also employed a new email newsletter marketing system. This regular mail-out keeps those interested with forthcoming shows, latest news and special offers.

Finally, was the introduction of the online social-networking campaign, including a very popular Facebook Fanpage and Twitter feed. The Facebook page is used as a daily real-time two-way line of communication with the audience, holding regular competitions online as well as instant feedback on shows from the public.

A good deal has been achieved. The  website currently gains around 5000 unique visits a month, with an average of 21,000 page views per month and is increasing month by month.

Within one week of launch of the Facebook page, the Theatre had over five hundred fans. This has since grown to over 1,100 and is expanding every day.

Online sales has grown to approximately 60% amount of monthly sales and email mailing list is now over 1,200 subscribers.

The Theatre is now reaching a much younger generation of audience and new genre of shows and events never before seen in the venue to date.

We are delighted with the award, and had a great time with everyone we met old and new at the gala dinner in Mt. Juliet. The food was superb and the location even better. We look forward to next year’s award and commend The Association on a good night out.
