Waterdrop Photography

Splish, Splash, Click, Flash...

Spent some time getting to know my new tripod tonight. 50 or 60 shots later and a very wet kitchen counter top, I came up with some reasonable results for a first attempt. Nothing too fancy used, just a pint glass of water, a blue paper bag as a background, my trusty Nikon D100, 70-200 lens and on-camera flash. I actually set the camera to 5 second timer, press the shutter release, then let it countdown while I slowly let water drip from a small plastic water bottle from a height and hopefully when the flash fires, it captured something interesting. Check out lots more pix of lovely waterdrops here and also a page on the technique involved... Freezing water drops with flash
