Setting Up Your E-mail in Microsoft Outlook
This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook and indeed Outlook Express. You will need the following information available: - Your email address username and password - Incoming POP3 server... generally mail.yourdomain.com - Outgoing SMTP server... we recommend using the outgoing mail server as provided by your broadband supplier. E.g. mail1.eircom.net for Eircom broadband connections. Once you have this information, proceed as follows:
* Open Outlook and click Tools from the top menu. Outlook 'Tools' menu * Click on E-mail Accounts.

Outlook 'Accounts' screen * Select Add a new e-mail account. * Click Next. Outlook 'Server Type' screen * Select POP3. * Click Next. Outlook 'Email Settings' screen

User Information * Type your name as you would like it displayed in the Display Name field. You can capitalise and space it as required. * Type your e-mail address into the E-mail address field. *Note: E-mail addresses are usually all lower-case and never contain spaces. Logon Information * The Username field should be the same as your email address. * Type your e-mail password into the Password field.

* To avoid having to type in your password each time you check your e-mail, make sure the Remember Password box is ticked. * Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) should NOT be ticked. Server Information * Complete the POP3 and SMTP server fields as per information. * Click Next. The last page is simply a confirmation:

* Click Finish to complete the setup and close the window.
