Emagine Media Launch Ver.2008 website
They say the cobbler's son has the worst shoes.... Due to our hectic production schedule and a year of technology improving at the rate the internet does, we tend to feel the same by the end of the year. So we take the time to re-do and rejuvenate our own showcase online. Separation of design from content and accessible technologies is what we evangelize on a daily basis, and once a year we have the chance to re-do our site to up the bar and the standard of our own website. Some highlights:

Branding

We have spent a good deal of thought on our branding and look/feel across the board. From letterhead to the side of the company vehicles, we have worked on the treatment of our own logo and how it fits the medium we apply it to. This year we kept with the same colour scheme, albeit slightly lighter and easier to read that our 2007 site. Accessible colour contrasts dictated the main area of the site, and how each element was treated in situ.

Technology

We have worked with many Content Management Systems, both open source and commercial versions and we have decided to use Expression Engine for this year's website. As the site has evolved we found this system to be the best to suit our needs. The people who brought us code ignitor have also given us the flexible mix of content management and blogging systems, combined with a solid templating system that separates design from content.

Evolution

We look to the new year and the evolution of our business as a whole, which will be reflected in the new site. No website is a finished product, but should evolve over time with the business it depicts. We hope to launch our secure client area, including our proofing system for our design department and trouble tickets system for client support as we finish and roll out the code. Other small tidbits will be changed over the coming months, which we will certainly highlight within these pages.
