The First King
Viking House VR
Take Virtual Reality, a popular Norwegian tourist destination, add a touch of old-world history, and mix it with cutting edge technology and you find Viking House.
Working with historical archivists steeped in the Viking Sagas, Emagine created an experience where the viewer becomes the camera. No longer a participant in the story, you live the tale of King Harald Hairfair and his unification of Norway.
Our talented team crafted music, characters, scripts, and animation to match an exacting brief. Installed on-site in Stavanger, Norway it has already become a very popular tourist attraction.

2019 saw recording breaking cruise activity in Stavanger. 243 calls from 69 different cruise ships brought close to 500,000 passengers to the city and surrounding region. Stavanger has now become a year-round port of call with cruise calls booked every month. Viking House has become one of the 'must-do' activities for those visiting the port. Our 15 minute Virtual Reality experience is an ideal activity for those on a day-trip excursion and conscious of how they spend their time in the city.

Emagine collaborated with Norwegian illustrator Anders Kvåle Rue to help storyboard scenes and pre-visualise Norway in the age of the Vikings.
